Choral Meets Afrobeats is the rare event that bridges two seemingly incompatible worlds: the precision and reverence of choral music with the infectious rhythm and swagger of Afrobeats. Hosted in the elegant hall of Eko Hotels on Victoria Island, this concert brings together a 40-voice choir, a full Afrobeats band, and a rotation of guest soloists.
The programme moves through three acts:
Act I — Roots: Traditional Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa choral compositions performed a cappella. Haunting, beautiful, and anchoring.
Act II — Fusion: The band joins. Classic Afrobeats anthems reimagined with four-part harmonies, string pads, and percussive choral breakdowns.
Act III — Celebration: High-energy collaborative set with audience participation, call-and-response, and a standing ovation finale.
Admission is free but ticketed — capacity is limited to 800. Doors open at 6 PM, programme begins at 7 PM sharp. Dress code: smart casual. Photography is encouraged.
